Buy the air tickets immediately upon receipt of the Acceptance Letter and don’t wait for the Information Sheet.
Make sure you have your travel and medical insurance ready before joining your workcamp.
Supporting letters of workcamp participation for visa application can be provided by the hosting workcamp organizations upon request. However, there is no guarantee on the approval of your visa application.

Consult your doctor and check if compulsory vaccination is needed for the country you will go. You may consider visiting the Travel Health Centre, Department of Health.
5. Travel Plan
Plan your own journey before and after workcamp and bring along a travel guide book with you (e.g. Lonely Planet).
English is the common language. You can learn some simple words or sentences of the local language before joining yourworkcamp.
7. History and culture
Learn some history and culture of the country you will go.
8. Risk to personal safety
To better understand whether your travel countries are safe or not, you may make reference to the Outbound Travel Alert (OTA) System issued by the Security Bureau, in which the risk or threat to personal safety of those more popular travel destinations for Hong Kong residents are listed.
Check the weather of your destination so that you won’t bring the wrong clothes. The RealFeel figure of Accuweather.com makes reference to the factors of temperature, humidity and wind speed to calculate the real feel temperature of human body.
Bring some gifts of Hong Kong or China style for the local and overseas participants.
11. Food Ingredients
Bring some Chinese food ingredients to make traditional Chinese food in the workcamp to show the food culture of China.
12. Emergency Contact
Copy the contact numbers of the hosting workcamp organization, workcamp leader, VolTra, your family and friends.
13. Other things to bring
Always bring along the Information Sheet with you and other suggested items including local currency, torch, working gloves, suntan lotion, hat, slippers, mosquito spray, personal medicine, washing powder, socket adapter, rain coat, sleeping bag etc.
