Volunteers Initiative Nepal (VIN)VIN is one of the few Nepali run organizations currently operating in Nepal whose missionserves to directly empower marginalized people and promote a greater sense of voluteering.Our projects operate year round and international volunteers can feel satisfied by contributingto an organization that is working to improve the quality of life of the Nepali peopleaeuro)with anemphasis on improving education for marginalized groups such as women and children.
Rebuilding Earthquake Resistant Infrastructure (RERI) VINLTV11 - B: Our focus is to construct earthquake Resistant infrastructure. Our goal is to help build 50 early childhood development centers, 30 community schools, 6 community centers through this project. This is fully hands on activities. The volunteers under this project in involve in the construction of earthquake resistant infrastructure. Specific activities: Involve in the construction of earthquake resistant infrastructure such as schools, toilets, Community Learning Centers etc.
Accommodation and food:
ccommodation VIN arranges accommodation for your induction period and your placement peri- od, this means two to three nights at a hotel in Thamel, Kathmandu and then your host family or monastery/nunnery. The costs are covered by your project fee. In placement accommodation, your sleeping arrangements may be private or shared and in most cases you will be required to share a bathroom and toilet facilities with your host family or the monks/nuns. It is important for you to realize that bath- room and toilet facilities and standards of hygiene will be in accordance with local standards. These facilities and standards may sometimes be very basic and may not be up to in western standards. You must be prepared to cope with this. Food VIN provides food during the placement from the project fee. You will receive at least two meals a day throughout the placement, which will be of Nepali standards and usually Daal Bhat (lentil soup and rice), vegetable curry, pickle etc. If you wish to supplement your diet with other food the responsibility and cost lies with you. We will only cover food and accom- modation for the period agreed for your placement and only at your placement. In most cases you will be staying with a host family after the project induction and will share the same food with them. Location and leisure activities:
Jitpur community of Kathmandu District, which is only about 11 km away from main ring road to Balaju, Kathmandu. Okhaldhunga, a beautiful and hilly district, is located in Everest Region of Nepal. It has limited developmental activities and facilities. From Kathmandu, the shortest bus route is about 250 km which is rough and takes one day to reach there. Leisure Activities: Either before or after your workcamp, there exists the option to undertake a short VIN-organized tour to one of Nepals nearby attractions.

Fee for four weeks is 555, then 75 for each extra week. For Everest Region Placement, there will be 60 EUR to cover transportation.
