A Global Volunteering Platform
VolTra is a global volunteering platform that focuses on cultural exchange and community outreach. We have developed an international volunteering network for people from Hong Kong to engage with different communities around the world. Our international workcamp programs are based on the principle of action learning, introducing young people to unconventional ways of life while encouraging them to reflect on their own experiences.

Our participants have the chance to gain new perspectives and learn alongside fellow volunteers from every corner of the world, turning their insights into tangible action. Our network aims to maximize social impact and bring about positive transformation in both local and global communities.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. I don’t have a lot of technical skills. Should I still apply for your volunteering programs?
Yes. Most of VolTra’s volunteering programs do not require any technical knowledge. If you are aged 18 or above and eager to learn, you’ll find opportunities to gain hands-on experience in community work.
2. Are your volunteering programs safe?
Yes. All VolTra’s and our trusted partners’ programs undergo a thorough review process. Every project has security measures and emergency procedures in place. We will also provide our participants with region-specific safety guidance. Feel free to contact us for any safety concerns.
3. Is there any language requirement for your international programs? Can I apply if I’m not proficient in English?
English is the main language for communication in most of our international workcamps. However, VolTra’s representatives and tour guides provide support in both Chinese and English. Language proficiency is the only factor we consider, so we encourage all interested volunteers to apply.
4. In addition to international programs, does VolTra organize local volunteering activities in Hong Kong?
Yes. We regularly organize programs including micro-volunteering, VolTra Academy and Glocal Hero, where local volunteers in Hong Kong can gain hands-on experience.
5. After applying for an international program, do I have to arrange flights, travel insurance and visa documents on my own?
Our application fee typically does not include flight tickets, travel insurance or visa-related expenses. Participants will be responsible for making these arrangements themselves. We will provide any necessary support before departure.
